Similar to our 2017 collaboration with National Museum of Singapore for their Patrons Dinner, the concept for 2019's Patrons Dinner was also draw inspiration from the William Farquhar Floral & Fauna Collection. This time round, we expanded the original concept to better reflect the drawings in the collection. The drawings commissioned by William Farquhar details the natural environment in Malaya, and our design naturally incorporated flowers from the region.

Our pedestal displays featured Anthriums, White Orchids, and Hydrangeas, paired with large fern and rainforest leaves. The overflowing floral and fauna was to replicate an environment of lush greenery, as depicted through the drawings.

Using a more vibrant colour palette this year, our installation aimed to reflect William Farquhar's enthusiasm for the plush landscape of Malaya, and hopefully inspired the same appreciation for those around it.
